I have loved Mahatma rice for over 30 years. This high quality rice is a step above other brands that often have broken grains and other materials in them. The price reflects the current demand, limited supply and difficulty in acquiring inventory. Many folks would have to spend much more money in gas and time to try to get this rice and that is hoping it is available when you arrive at the store. We had to spend several hours going to many stores to get this rice. Then we have to spend time properly packing and shipping and standing in long lines at the post office. Over 5 hours of work for one shipment. How much is your time worth to you? $8 an hour after fees and shipping is still minimum wage. People should consider this when they say it is gouging.
